4th Bullet - [video]

[When the video turns on Veronica is staring at her journal, a rather...pitiful look on her face. If one looks behind her in the background, they might be able to notice that her heart is bleeding in the jar sitting across the room. She wrings her hands and gazes sadly at the place she considers the "camera" to be.]

Hearts in jars? Absolutely horrendous. I sure hope no one was killed to get these hearts.

I do hope everyone is doing alright, considering the circumstances.

[Surprisingly enough, not a single bit of that was sarcastic.]

Where do you think hearts come from? The heart giving tree? Magically dug out of the ground?

Someone probably found a random group of people and just slaughtered them all.

It's almost considerate. Someone, mercilessly taking the life of another just so you could have one of their vital organs in a jar.

[Shrugs.]

Hey, as long as they didn't cut out the heart while the individual was still alive, it's not that bad.

Unless they did. I imagine that would be rather painful for your species.

[Another shrug. This one was easy.]

Well, depending on how long it takes your brain to run out of oxygenated blood ... You'd only have to watch for roughly 30 seconds to around 4 minutes.

Various factors come into play with that sort of thing. I could describe it in more detail if you'd like.

Are you sure? It's a rather fascinating subject. I'm almost amazed by how long your mental functions can go on even while missing various vital organs.

In fact ...

[He seems to ponder in thought.]

If someone were to cut off your head, but still kept that squishy organic fluid you know as blood flowing to your brain, you'd still be somewhat aware of your everything that was going on around you.

Actually, I think being slowly consumed alive would be the worst thing that could happen to a human.

I think Earth has a few insect species that will slowly eat away organic flesh.

[Did we mention he's a horrible person? Yes.]
